Carlton, LCA Advance To The Quarterfinals

The second round of the Section 7A playoffs took place on Tuesday night, which saw the top seeded Carlton Bulldogs and the second seeded Lakeview Christian Academy Lions advance to the Quarterfinals.

The Bulldogs advanced to the Quarterfinals after defeating the Hill City Hornets, 83-64, while the LCA Lions advanced after defeating the Northland Eagles, 74-67.

Also advancing to the quarterfinals was the Fond du Lac Ojibwe Ogichida, who toppled the Wrenshall Wrens, 73-64 to set up a matchup against the Carlton Bulldogs on March 11th at UMD, with a tipoff of 2:30pm.

Lakeview Christian Academy will face the Silver Bay Mariners, who edged the Floodwood Polar Bears 40-37. That game will also be played at UMD with a tipoff of 5:45pm.

Also advancing in the 7A playoffs was Deer River, with a 83-70 victory over Bigfork. They will play Mountain-Iron Buhl, who defeating Nashwauk-Keewating, 72-32. Also, the North Woods Grizzlies advanced with a 123-38 victory over Northeast Range. They will face the Chisholm Bluestreaks, who beat Ely by a score of 62-49.

The winners of each game will play on Tuesday, March 14th at UMD. The games will tipoff at 5:45pm and 7:15pm.
