South Ridge Advances Past Wrenshall In Playoffs

Joe Janke led the third-seeded South Ridge Panthers over the Wrenshall Wrens as he tallied 192 rushing yards on 23 attempts in the 18-14 win.

Janke got things going for the Panthers right away, scoring on a big 62-yard run.

The Wrens’ Tyler Kelly would have an answer of his own, scoring on a 50-yard run to even the game up 6-6 after the first quarter.

Nick Carlson gave the Panthers the lead again in the second quarter, scoring from the 5-yard line on the ground for the 14-4 lead.

Wrenshall would inch within one point, as Jared Kelly broke loose for a 50-yard rushing touchdown.

The deciding score would occur in the fourth and final quarter of play, as Marc Lisic hauled in a 49-yard pass from Carlson to secure the 18-14 victory and advancement in the playoffs.
