MLWR Snaps Losing Streak Against Hermantown

The MLWR Rebels snapped their 4 game losing streak on Wednesday night, topping the Hermantown Hawks 37-24.

Bryceton Butkiewicz helped the Rebels get out to a fast start, opening the game with a 17 yard run, followed by a 3 yard plunge to put the Rebels up 16-0 early. The Hawks responded when Jake Hausmann pushed his way into the end zone from a yard out, but Butkiewicz would match that score before the half ended with a 35 yard run to give the Rebels a 24-8 halftime lead.

Butkiewicz would continue his tear in the 3rd quarter, bolting to the end zone for the 4th time, this time on a 60 yard touchdown to make it 31-8. The Hawks would cut into the Rebels lead with a 3 yard run from Caden Potter to make it 31-16.

The Rebels would get into the end zone one final time, this time from Isaac Riihiluoma on a 25 yard run to make it 37-16 in favor of the Rebels. Jake Hausmann would make it into the end zone for the Hawks from 5 yards out, making it a 37-24 final.

The Rebels improve to 4-4 on the regular season, while the Hawks drop to 5-3 on the year. Playoff seeding is still TBA for both teams.
