MLWR Falls To Pine City

The MLWR Rebels dropped their second consecutive game on Friday night, falling to Pine City 20-18.

The Pine City Dragons got out to a fast start, with Jacob Lindblom scoring from 2 yards out and Jake Lunceford scoring from a yard out to I’ve Pine City a 14-0 lead in the 2nd quarter. Moose Lake would cut into that lead, however, when Ian Coil found Isaac Riihiluoma on a 14 yard pass to make it 14-6. Later in the quarter, Bryceton Butkiewicz would plunge in from 2 yards out to make it 14-12 heading into halftime.

In the 2nd half, Lunceford would get into the end zone from 2 yards out again for the Dragons, pushing the Pine City lead to 20-12. Riihiluoma would score for the Rebels late in the 4th quarter to cut it to 20-18, but Moose Lake failed their two point attempt, making it a final.

 

The Dragons are now 1-4 on the year and will look to win again on October 7th when they travel to play the Esko Eskomos. The Rebels fall to 3-2 on the year and will look to get back on the winning track on October 7th when they travel to play Crobsy-Ironton.
