Cloquet Falls In Low Scoring Affair

The Cloquet Lumberjacks lost their first game of the 2016 campaign in a low scoring, 14-7, loss to the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks.

Cloquet got out to a fast start when Spencer Wehr ran 74 yards to the end zone to give the Lumberjacks an early 7-0 advanced. The Thunderhawks would respond in the 2nd quarter on a 17 yard run from Kermit Goins. After converting the 2 point attempt, the Thunderhawks took an 8-7 lead into the half.

The game would remain at 8-7 until the 4th quarter when Brody Holm punched the game winning touchdown in from 7 yards out to give Grand Rapids the 14-7 win.

With the loss, the Lumberjacks fall to 3-1 on the year. They will be back in action on September 30th when they travel to play the Hermantown Hawks. The Thunderhawks are now 3-1 on the year.
