Mora Hands MLWR First Loss

The MLWR Rebels were handed their first loss of the season on Friday night, falling to the Mora Mustangs 38-14.

The Rebels led after the first quarter after Joe Weidendorf scampered 15 yards, giving the Rebels a 8-7 lead. The Rebels would then concede a 45 yard run to Mora’s Jeremiah Mantel, which gave the Mustangs a 15-7 advantage. The Rebels responded with Bryceton Butkiewicz punching it in from 1 yard to make it 15-14 at the half.

In the 2nd half, the Mustangs would rally off 23 unanswered points, led by Mantel who had a 28 yard touchdown run and a 5 yard touchdown run to give the Mustangs the 38-14 victory.

The Rebels are now 3-1 on the year and will look to bounce back on September 30th when they host Pine City. Mora improved to 3-1 with the victory.
