The Moose Lake Willow River Rebels retained the Little Brown Jug for the 17th consecutive year, running past the Barnum Bombers 40-0. The Rebels are now 21-5 all-time against the Bombers and haven’t lost the Little Brown Jug since 1998.

The Rebels got out to a fast start when Bryceton Butkiewicz got into the end zone from 6 yards out. Isaac Riihiluoma then converted the 2 point conversion to put the Rebels up 8-0 early. Riihiluoma then found the end zone himself on a 54 yard scamper, increasing the Rebel lead to 14-0 to end the 1st quarter.

In the 2nd quarter, Butkiewicz connected with Anakin Oswald on a 15 yard connection, making the score 20-0 heading into the half.

The Rebels started the 3rd quarter right where they left off after a 5 yard run from Riihiluoma increased the margin to 26-0. Later in the quarter, Butkiewicz found himself in the end zone again, this time after a 65 yard run, moving the score to 33-0.

In the 4th quarter, Isaac Riihiluoma scored his 3rd touchdown on the evening after bolting 70 yards to the end zone to cap the scoring for the night, making it a 40-0 final.

The Rebels move to 1-0 on the season and will look to notch another victory on September 9th when they host the Spectrum Sting. The Bombers are 0-1 and will look to get into the winning column on September 9th when they host the Deer River Warriors.
