Eskomos Are Section 7AA Champions

The Esko Eskomos are the Section 7AA champions after rallying to defeat the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels, 8-7 on Thursday afternoon. This is the Eskomos first trip to state since 2007.

Kristy DeMuth came up with the biggest hit of the game for the Eskomos when she singled in the bottom of the 7th with one out to drive in Dea DeLeon to send the Eskomos to the State Tournament.

DeMuth went 2-3 in the win, while Davrianna Horvath went 3-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s.

For the Rebels, Jamie Benzie went 3-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s in the loss.

The Eskomos are now 16-5 on the year. They will face the 2nd seeded LeSueur-Henderson Giants (21-3) on June 9th at 9:00am. The game will be played at Caswell Park in Mankato.

The Rebels ended their successful season with a 20-6 record.
