Duluth East Survives First Round Scare

The top-seeded Duluth East Greyhounds survived a first round scare on Wednesday afternoon, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to edge the Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets, 3-2, in the first round of the Section 7AAAA playoffs.

Casey Aplin got the victory for the Greyhounds, pitching a complete game while allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. Luke Johnson took the loss for the Bluejackets, going 6 innings allowing 3 runs on just 3 hits.

The Greyhounds advance to the 2nd round of the playoffs where they will match-up with the Blaine Bengalds at Duluth East on June 2nd with a start time of 4:30pm. Duluth East edged Blaine earlier in the season, 6-4.
