Lumberjacks Chop Past Eskomos

The Esko Eskomos hosted the Cloquet Lumberjacks on Tuesday evening but could not defend their home field as the Lumberjacks went home with the 6-2 victory.

Chanler Dilday got the win for Cloquet, pitching 7 innings, allowing 0 earned runs on 5 hits while striking out 3 batters. On the offensive side, Jacob Johnson led the way with a home run and 2 RBI’s. Joe Backus went 2-5 with a double, while Gabe Sorenson and Austin Parenteau each went 2-4 with an RBI.

Taking the loss for the Eskomos was Cole Litsey who went 5.1 innings allowing 5 runs on 8 hits while striking out 4. Tyler Peterson went 2-3 with a run scored in the loss.

The Lumberjacks are now 5-10 on the year and will play their season finale on May 26th when they travel to play Hibbing. The Eskomos drop to 11-7 on the year and will look to bounce back against Moose Lake Willow River on May 26th.
