Eskomos Beat Greenway, Fall To Superior

The Esko Eskomos participated in the Superior Invite over the weekend, opening up on Friday with a loss against Ashland, 3-2. On Saturday, they bounced back with a 12-2 five inning victory over Greenway before falling to Superior in a closely contested 6-5 game.

Against Greenway, Ryan Bourgeault got the victory, pitching 4 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits while striking out 3. On the offensive side, Bourgeault led the way with a 2-3 performance that included 4 RBI’s. Nick Emanuel also went 2-3 with 3 RBI’s in the victory.

Against Superior, Ben Fischer took the loss after going 1.2 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits. Derek Peterson led the way by going 3-3 with 3 RBI’s and Brody Kahldahl also went 3-3 with 2 RBI’s.

Justin Reinkall went 6 innings, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits while striking out 8 to get the victory for the Spartans. He also went 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI’s at the plate.

The Eskomos fall to 3-3 on the season and will look to bounce back on April 26th when they take on the Two Harbors Agates.
