NSO – NEWS RELEASE

The two teams needed another overtime for a second night in a row and it was the defending champion Wilderness again who would end up the winners, as they advanced to the Midwest Finals for a rematch against Fairbanks thanks to a 3-2 overtime win on Saturday night.

The Jets had leads of 1-0 and 2-1 thanks to goals from Adrian Holesinsky and Peter Bates, but each time the Jets scored, the Wilderness had an answer as Ryan Bloom scored to tie the game at 1-1 and Aaron Miller scored to tie the game at 2-2.

With less than seven minutes remaining in the first overtime, Bloom took a pass entering the zone, cut sharply to the middle and wristed a shot past Janesville goalie Jack LaFontaine, who was screened on the goal for the game and series winner.

Luke Kania made 23 saves in the win, while LaFontaine made 28 saves in the loss.
