The Hermantown Hawks are finally Class A State Champions, ending a six year streak of placing 2nd in the state, after defeating the Breck Mustangs, 5-0 in the championship game on Saturday morning

Hermantown got on the board first when Cole Koepke scored 10 minutes into the first period. Just 3 minutes later, the Hawks scored again when Jesse Jacques found the back of the net to move the Hawks up 2-0. James Lindberg pushed the lead to 3-0 at the end of the period, keeping the momentum on the Hawks side.

The Hawks would continue to pile on the goals, with Logan Judnick scoring 7 minutes into the 2nd period to make it 4-0. Ryan Sandelin then pushed it to 5-0 in the 3rd period, to secure the first State Championship for the Hermantown Hawks since 2007.

The Hawks ended their season with a 27-2-1 record. From all of us at Northland Sports Online, we would like to congratulate the Hermantown Hawks on a spectacular season!
