Mirage Fall In 3rd Place Game

The Proctor/Hermantown Mirage played in the 3rd place game on Saturday morning, squaring off with the Warroad Warriors, falling 3-1.

The Warriors took the early lead on a power play goal in the 1st period by Kaitlyn Kotlowski, making it 1-0. Proctor knotted it up just a minute later when Sophie McGovern found the back of the net on a power play goal of their own.

In the 2nd period, Warroad took the lead back when Madison Oelkers netted another power play goal for the Warriors, making it 2-1. Mariah Gardner pushed the lead to 3-1 for the Warriors late in the 2nd period, converted on the 3rd power play of the morning for the Warriors.

Emma Brunelle stopped 24 shots in the win for Warroad, while Amy Lemenager stopped 19 for the Mirage.

The Mirage ended their season with a 20-9-1 record and 4th place in the Class A State Tournament. The Warroad Warriors ended their season with a 25-4-1 record.
