The Andover Huskies once again ended the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Lumberjacks season with a 4-1 victory Thursday night at Andover in the section 7AA quarterfinals.

In the first period, it took Andover 11:26 to take the 1-0 advantage off a power play goal by Sidney Portner.

2:10 into the second period, the Huskies put the pressure on going up 2-0 after Lexi Turpin found the back of the net. The Lumberjacks responded to that goal 8 minutes later when Lexi Smalley scored, cutting the Andover lead down to 2-1. Just 2 minutes later, Andover got that goal back with Claire Butorac pushing the Huskies lead to 3-1. At the 16 minute mark, Andover made it 4-1 with Jessica Nowacki putting the finishing touch on the game for the Huskies.

Cassidy Stumo blocked 15 shots in the win for Andover, while Eric Genereau stopped 19 in the loss for CEC.

The Lumberjacks end their season with a final record of 14-8-4. The Andover Huskies improve to 13-13 on the year and move onto the next round of the playoffs where they will play Elk River/Zimmerman at Mars Lakeview Arena on February 6th. The puck will drop at 3:00pm.
