Bolen Cracks 1000 Point Plateau in Victory

Shania Bolen lit up the scoreboard Tuesday night as the senior forward scored a team high 36 points, while cracking the1000 point mark for her career as the Hermantown Hawks defeated the Superior Spartans 65-53 in a Lake Superior Conference battle.

Hermantown and the Spartans battled to a two point game at halftime with the Hawks leading 29-27, but the Hawks and Bolen out scored Superior by 10 to take home the victory at Hermantown High School.

Bolen’s 36 points puts her at 1004 for her career. Jordyn Thomas was the other lone Hawks in double figures as she finished with 11 points.

Superiors Mackenzie Kmecik out scored Bolen with a game high 38 points but again it was the Hawks who prevailed with the home win.

Hermantown improves to 11-3 on the season and they will be in action next Tuesday when they will face the Oredockers in Ashland.
