Wilderness Drop a Pair

Wednesday

Kip Hoffman scored twice as the Jets scored early and often in a 5-2 road win in Cloquet against the Wilderness.

After a scoreless first half of the 1st period, the Jets turned up the pressure later in the period as they got three goals in a three-minute stretch to open up a 3-0 lead.

Goals came from Hoffman, Adam Winborg and Blake Wareham. The Jets increased the lead to 4-0 with an early 2nd period goal from Hoffman, his second of the night, which also came shorthanded.

The Wilderness finally got on the board late in the 2nd period as newcomer Connor Bucsis scored with assists to Aaron Miller and Koby Bender.

The Jets regained the three-goal advantage with a goal late in the period from John Peterson. The final goal of the game came early in the 3rd period on the power play from Aaron Miller.

Jets goalie Jack LaFontaine played very well in the win, making 32 saves, while Luke Kania made 11 saves in the loss

 

Thursday

 

Thanks to another great game from goalie Jack LaFontaine, the Jets earned a road sweep in Cloquet against the Wilderness with a 4-3 win on Thursday.

It was the Wilderness who held a 2-1 advantage after one period thanks to goals from Aaron Miller and Casey Gilling.

Cole Paskus scored the Jets in the opening period. Janesville then took a 3-2 lead in the 2nd period with goals from Adam Winborg and Lord Anthony Grissom.

The lead increased to 4-2 as Jake Bresser scored. Miller added his second of the game for the Wilderness with just seconds remaining. LaFontaine ended up making 38 saves in the win
