Buzzer Beater Lifts Lady Hawks Past Hunters

It came down to the final seconds Thursday night, as Hermantown’s Jordyn Thomas knocked down the game-winning bucket to propel her team to a 58-57 victory.

After trailing at halftime 28-21, Hermantown would come rallying back in the second half, outscoring Duluth Denfeld 37-29.  Shania Bolen led the Hawks with 14 points, while Taylor Vold added 10.

Also scoring in the win was Thomas with 9, Ellie Gamradt 8, Kianna Hren 7, Sierra Bolen & Taylor Schmidt 4, and Tess Johnson 2.

Ashley Taipale paced the Hunters with 21 points in the close loss.

Hermantown now sits at 6-2, while Denfeld falls to 1-4 on the year.
