Cloquet Topples Duluth Denfeld

The Cloquet Lumberjacks played host to Duluth Denfeld on Tuesday night, notching their first win of the season, winning 76-61.

The Lumberjacks held a slight 36-30 lead at the half, but continued to build on it, outscoring the Hunters 40-31 in the second half en route to the 76-61 victory.

The Lumberjacks used a balanced scoring attack to get the victory. Riley Johnson led the way with 16, Jordan Diver followed with 14, Bryce Turnbull pitched in 12, Brandon Hill added 11, and Joe Obeidzinski scored 10. Also for the Lumberjacks was Bronson Wehr with 8 and Joshua Bushey rounding it out with 5.

In the loss for the Hunters, Marques Jones scored a game high 19 points. Shane Yagoda added 16, while Trevor Otteson and Caleb Gibson scored 11 and 10 points respectively. Rounding it out for the Hunters was Jaaren Jorgenson with 3 and Chance Larson with 2.

The Lumberjacks improve to 1-3 on the year and will travel to Proctor on December 11th. The Hunters drop to 1-3 on the year and will look to bounce back against Duluth East at home on December 11th.
