Hawks Start Season Victorious

The Hermantown Hawks hosted the Duluth East Greyhounds on the hardwood Tuesday night, winning 57-48.

The Hawks trailed the Greyhounds at halftime, 23-19 but had an impressive second half, outscoring Duluth East 41-25 en route to a 57-48 victory.

Jordyn Thomas led the way for the Hawks, scoring 20 points in the win. Shania Bolen also was in double digits for the Hawks, scoring 16 points. Also for Hermantown was Taylor Vold with 9, Sierra Bolen added 5, and Rachelle Johnson and Jaclyn Bushey rounded it out with 4 each.

In the loss for Duluth East, Jada Olson had 13 points. Kelsi Hanson and Annie Reichhoff each scored in double digits, adding 11 and 10 respectively. Erin Teichrow pitched in 9, Ashley Williams scored 3, and Maggie Leider topped it off with 2.

Hermantown starts the year off 1-0 and will have a tough matchup against the Esko Eskomos on December 3rd, tipping off at 545pm. The Greyhounds fall to 0-3 on the year and will look for their first win on December 4th when they travel to play Princeton.
