FDLTCC Men & Women Drop Openers

The FDLTCC Women’s & Men’s basketball teams opened season play Wednesday  against Gogebic Community College, in Ironwood Michigan.

The Thunder women dropped a close game 68-66. The Thunder trailed by 4 at the half, and used a strong 3rd quarter surge to take the lead by 3 to start the 4th.

It was a back and forth battle, that saw 5 lead changes and 4 ties. The Thunder were led by sophomore Jaiden Cofield’s 32 points & 10 rebounds, Drewrez Budreau added 15 points, and Kayla Jackson pulled down 8 rebounds.

The Thunder men lost 102-76 to a sharp shooting Gogebic team. Carlos white scored 24 points and Donald Gordon added 20 points for the Thunder.

The Thunder women & men return to action on Friday in Virginia. The women play against Rainy River at 2pm, and the men take on Hibbing at 4pm.
