On Saturday, teams from Section 5 9-man, Section 7AA, Section 7AAA, and Section 7AAAA continue to chase their dreams of playing in the Minnesota state football tournaments.

In Section 5A 9-man, the top seeded and defending champion Cromwell Cardinals (8-1) will host the 5th seeded Floodwood Polar Bears (6-3) at 7pm. Earlier this season, the Cardinals defeated the Polar Bears 46-8.

In the other 5A 9-man matchup, the 2nd seeded Silver Bay Mariners (8-1) will host the 3rd seeded South Ridge Panthers (7-2). This will be the first matchup between the two teams this season.

In Section 7AA, the 9 time defending champion, Moose Lake Willow River Rebels, who were seeded 2nd in the section with a 6-3 record, will take on the 3rd seeded Rush City Tigers, who are 7-2. This will be the first time since 2012 that these two teams have played each other.

In Section 7AAA, the top seeded Proctor Rails (5-3) will host the Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin Titans (4-5) at 1pm. The Rails won their matchup early in the season by a score of 26-8.

In the other matchup on 7AAA, the defending section champion Esko Eskomos, who received the 2nd seed in the section with a record of 6-2 will host the 3rd seeded Two Harbors Agates, who come in with a record of 6-3. In their matchup early in the year, the Eskomos took home the victory with a 34-20 score.

In Section 7AAAA, the undefeated Hermantown Hawks, who are 8-0 will host North Branch, who is 2-7. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2012. Kickoff will be at 6pm.
