BSU would rely on its defensive play and net-minder Mowat to close the remaining 40 minutes of play. Mowat remained strong, and with 2:46 remaining in the third period, Minnesota Duluth head coach Maura Crowell pulled their goaltender in favor of the extra attacker. The Bulldogs put constant pressure on Mowat and the Beaver defense, but two saves and four blocked shots by the Beavers held the shutout intact for Bemidji State.

With the victory, Bemidji State earns their first Western Collegiate Hockey Association victory of the season, and will wrap-up its two-game series with Minnesota Duluth at 2:07 p.m. Saturday.
