The Duluth East Greyhounds had their senior night spoiled by St. Francis on Thursday night, falling to them 50-13 in the regular season finale.

St. Franchise got out to the early 7-0 advantage when Isaiah Brunette plunged in from a yard out. Duluth East answered that score, however, with Jack Rashid connected with Ethan Clay from 4 yards away, knotting it up at 7-7 at the end of the 1st quarter.

From there it was all St. Francis. They’d go up 14-7 in the 2nd quarter after Stephen Anderson caught a 12 yard pass from Hunter Trautman. Trautman would then scamper into the end zone from 8 yards out, making it 21-7. Trautman followed that possession with another touchdown, this throwing time to Robbie Whitney on a 45 yard connection, moving the Saints lead to 29-7 after a successful two point conversion, which would be the halftime score.

Max Greene would then find the end zone for the Saint on an 11 yard run, making it 29-7 at the half.

St. Francis started the 3rd quarter right where they left off as Max Greene would then find the end zone for the Saint on an 11 yard run, making it 36-7. Brunette then scampered for a 36 yard touchdown run for the Saints, making it 43-7. Duluth East would answer that score with Rashid and Iyzaya Gill connecting on a 75 yard pass play, making it 43-13. The Saints would score one last time when Brett Norton ran from 10 yards away to make it a 50-13 final.

Jack Rashid threw it an impressive 36 times in the loss, completing 21 passes for 250 yards and 2 TD’s, but also throwing 2 interceptions. Iyzaya Gill caught 7 of those passes for 121 yards and a touchdown.

St. Francis ended the regular season with a 6-2 record with the win. The Greyhounds ended the regular season 2-6 and are awaiting their playoff seeding.
