Cromwell Throttles Floodwood

The Cromwell Cardinals moved to 4-1 on Friday night, throttling the Polar Bears from Floodwood, 46-8.

Cromwell got out to the early advantage when Zion Smith found Dillon Hoff from 8 yards out to make it 7-0. Sawyer Strelnieks made it 13-0 for the Cardinals after scampering 43 yards.

The Cardinals kept the gas pedal down with Eli Warpula plowing into the end zone from 8 yards out. Smith hit Strelnieks for the 2 point conversion, making it 21-0. Carter Karppinen got into the end zone for the Cardinals on a 17 yard run, making it 27-0. It would be a 33-0 lead at the half after Warpula scored his second touchdown of the evening, this time from 7 yards away.

Warpula kicked the 3rd quarter off with his third trip to the end zone, this time just 4 yards away, making it 39-0. Karppinen found the end zone again, finding his way into the end zone from just 2 yards out, making it a 46-0 lead.

Cromwell lost the shutout in the 4th quarter when Floodwoods Kaleb Chiles scored from 8 yards away. Chiles converted the 2 points to make it a final of 46-8.

The Cardinals (4-1) will be back in action next Friday, September 25th when they travel to play the Carlton Bulldogs (1-4). Floodwood falls to 2-3 on the season and will not be back in action until October 2nd when they host the Carlton Bulldogs.
