Gould to Play In Lynx All-Star Series

Andrea Gould from Wrenshall has been selected to play in the Minnesota Lynx Girls High School All-Star Series. The games will be on Friday April 24th at Macalester College in St. Paul and Saturday April 25th at Edina High School in Edina.

Players will be divided into four teams by school classification. It kicks off with a 6:00 pm game between the Class AA vs. Class AAAA at Macalester College and at 8:00 pm Class A vs. Class AAA at Macalester College. The winners will play on Saturday at Edina High School at 3:30 pm the 3rd place game is at 1:30.

The players for this select all star series were chosen by the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association. The Boys version was of this series was held on April 3rd and 4th. No players from Northeastern Minnesota was chosen on the boys side

Gould, a senior center from Wrenshall High School led the Wrenshall Wrens to the Girls State Basketball Tournament in 2008. This season an illness sidelined her for the last several weeks of the season, causing her to miss the playoffs. Gould will attend St. Catherine’s College in St. Paul and play basketball next year.

Class AA roster is Hannah Hylla – Albany, Nicole Anderson – Cannon Falls, Ashley Tingelstad – East Grand Forks, Hannah Linz – Eden Valley-Watkins, Abby Busch – GFW, Amber Dvorak – Hinckley-Finlayson, Katie Pettit – Howard Lake-Waverly, Brittany Chambers – Jordan, Leah Dietel – Jordan, and Whitney Canton – Pine Island.

Class AAA : Kristina Vorpahl – Austin, Chrissy Holm – Hill-Murray, Brianna Edwards Minneapolis North, Sarah Peterson – Minnehaha Academy, Kayla Altman -New Ulm Public, Katie Loberg – Princeton, Jennifer Dowd – Rogers, Lizzi Naumann – Totino Grace, Scotti Moats – Waconia, and Holli Aggen – Worthington.

Class AAAA: Brittany Zins – Bloomington Kennedy, Megan Nipe – Centennial, Sam Mehr – Eastview, Kara Elofson – Hopkins, Tayler Hill – Minneapolis South, Kassie Hooten – Moorhead, Katya Leick – Park, Jamie Noonan – Richfield, Theairra Taylor – St. Paul Central, and Kate Thompson – Wayzata.
