Hermantown Tops Esko In 4 Matches

The Hermantown Hawks took on the Esko Eskomos on September 1st. The Hawks would win in 4 matches, taking the first match 25-15, falling in the second match 23-25, and winning the third and fourth matches, 25-23 and 25-19, moving their record to 2-0.

For the Hawks, Hannah Mihalik had 14 kills and tallied 12 digs. Kylie Hoff also added 12 digs in the win and Cassidy Kaneski and Jordyn Thomas both tallied 27 set assists.

For Esko, Karinne Houser had 8 kills and added 5 blocks in the loss. Mackenzie Holland had 6 kills and Hannah Stark added 5 of her own. Taylor Robinson added up 14 set assists, while teammate Marais Houser tallied 9.

The Hawks are now 2-0 on the young season and will look to remain perfect when they host the Duluth East Greyhounds on September 8th. The Eskomos drop to 1-1 and will look to bounce back on September 3rd when they play Polar League opponent, the Barnum Bombers.
