In the season opener for both teams, it was the Proctor Rails coming out on top, led by and impressive performance by senior Quarterback Jake Malec. Malec threw for 169 yards, and three touchdowns. Malec’s first score was a 50-yard bomb to Junior running back Dakota Ellis, and the second, a 52 dart to Ellis again.

Halftime saw the Rails ahead of the Titans 19-0, as Malec notched his third and final touchdown of the game on a short 8-yard throw to Chase Erie, leaving the game at 26-0, Rails advantage. In the fourth quarter the Titans finally managed to get on the board with a rushing touchdown from Junior running back Spencer Potter, who ended the night with 128 yards on the ground. The final score was 26-8.

The Rails will look to add to their win total on August 28th, as they will face the Mustangs of Mora at 7p.m. Greenway/NK will look to get their first win of the season next week, taking on Grand Rapids August 28th, as well.
