Duluth East won the cross town battle Saturday over Duluth Denfeld by a score of 33-13 at Ordean Field in Duluth.

 

Duluth East got the scoring kicked off in the 1st quarter when Jack Rashid scampered into the end zone from 13 yards out, making it an early 7-0 score. The Hunters would respond, with Jared Smith finding the end zone from 5 yards away to make it 7-7.

In the 2nd quarter, Rashid would tally his second and third touchdowns of the game. The first one coming on a 15 yard pass from Tyler Seymour and the second one on a 15 yard run to give the Greyhounds the 21-7 advantage going into halftime.

In the 3rd quarter, Rashid would continue his impressive game, tallying his second receiving touchdown on the game, this time a 30 yard connection from Seymour. East would score again with Josh Daniels-Hanbury pushing into the end zone from a yard out to make it 33-7.

Denfeld would score once more, with Montrell McMillan rushing in from 5 yards out to make it a final of 33-13.

The Greyhounds start their season 1-0 and will look to tally another win when they travel to take on Cambridge-Isanti on August 28th. The Hunters start the season 0-1 and will look to bounce back on the road against Aitkin on August 28th.
