Healy Named to CNDT

University of Minnesota Duluth sophomore defenseman Jessica Healey has been named one of 43 players invited to Canada’s National Women’s Development Team selection camp in Calgary, Alberta.

The camp, which runs August 6-16 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park is part of Hockey Canada’s National Teams’ Summer Showcase. The 43 invitees are vying for spots on the 23-player squad that will travel to Lake Placid, N.Y. for a three-game series against the United States Under-22 Team August 19-22.

Healey, who will skate on the gold team, had two goals and one assist for three points in 36 games on the Bulldogs backline last season.  She owned a +7 plus/minus rating as a rookie.

UMD’s 2015-16 season will get underway on Sept. 26-27 when the Bulldogs take on Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.
