Greyhounds Split Double Header

The Duluth East Greyhounds traveled to take on St. Thomas Academy on Saturday, splitting the double header with them. STA took the first game, winning 10-3. Duluth East then shut out the Cadets 2-0 in the second game.

In the first game, Taylor Velander took the loss, pitching 3 innings, allowing 1 hit and 3 runs. At the plate, Willem Aldrich went 3-4 with an RBI in the loss.

In game two, Connor Gunst got the victory, pitching 7 innings, allowing just 3 hits while striking out 6. At the plate, Gunnar Howg went 2-3 with a run scored and Nick Lundgren went 1-3 with an RBI.

The Greyhounds are not 8-5 on the season and will look for another victory on May 15th when they travel to Bemidji State for a tournament.
