Hermantown Fends Off Esko

The Hermantown Hawks hosted the Esko Eskomos on Friday night, edging them by a score of 8-7.

Jess Jacques got the victory for the Hawks, pitching 4.1 innings, allowing just 2 hits and 2 runs while striking out 3. Kaden Anderson went 3-3 at the plate for Hermantown, also driving in a run. Thomas Madison went 1-4 with a double and 2 RBI’s, and Nick Bostrom went 3-3 and Eric Gotz went 2-2 in the win.

Derek Peterson took the loss for Esko, pitching 5 innings, allowing 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Nick Emanuel went 1-3 at the plate with a double and 2 RBI’s and Austin Carlson went 3-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

The Hawks improve their record to 2-10 on the season and were traveling to Mora to take on Pine City and Mora on May 9th. The Eskomos drop to 10-5 on the year and will have almost a weeks break between games as they will take on Eveleth-Gilbert on May 14th.
