The Cloquet Lumberjacks traveled to take on the Proctor Rails. Behind solid pitching, the Lumberjacks would come back home with the win, topping the Rails 5-2.

Brandon Conklin got the victory for the Jacks, pitching 6 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 1 hit. He also struck out 12 batters and only walked 2. Nate Weets went 3-4 at the plate with an RBI, while Conklin hit a double that drove in a run in the victory.

John Aase took the loss for the Rails, going 6 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 6 hits. Aase struck out 9 batters and walked 3 in the loss. Jake Malec hit a double and scored a run for the Rails and Matt Morris went 1-3 with 2 RBI’s.

The Lumberjacks improve to 7-3 on the year and will look for another victory on May 8th when they take on Virginia. The Rails drop to 8-4 on the year and will look to bounce back against Moose Lake Willow River on May 8th.
