Bulldogs Shut out Mercs

Grace Macor, Stacey Nelson, Hannah Benson, and Abby Mickle all had three hits as the Bulldogs as a team pounded out 16 hits as Carlton beat McGregor 10-0 Thursday at Chub Lake Park in Carlton.

The Bulldogs scored three runs in the second inning, one in the third, five in the fourth inning and it was Nelson who singled in Jess Stanslaski in the bottom of the fifth inning as the Bulldogs 10-runned the Mercuries.

Grace Macor who was the winning pitcher allowed only two hits in five innings pitched Thursday, while striking out 10 batters. Macor also was impressive at the plate with three hits including 2 triples and she added 1 RBI.

Stacey Nelson finished with 3 RBI’s and a triple among her three hits on the afternoon, while Benson finished with 2 RBI’s, a double and she scored two runs.

Seventh Grader Abby Mickle finished with 3 singles and she scored twice in the victory.

Jojo Orbeck  and Averie Seibert had the two lone hits for McGregor.

Carlton improves to 8-2 overall this season while the Mercs fall to 1-9 on the season.
