The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels picked up their 4th straight win to start the 2015 season last Friday with an 11-7 victory over Hinckley-Finlayson in Hinckley, but the winning streak ended on Monday when the Rebels fell to Mora by a score of 6-3 on a cold, snowy, wet day in Willow River.

Ally Bode was the winning pitcher Friday as she allowed only two hits in 5 1/3 innings, she struck out 9 and walked only one batter.

Marissa Mikrot was 2-4 with two doubles and she drove in 3 runs. Laura Walker was 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored, and Suzy Grutkowski scored three runs and drove in one with a RBI single.

Monday saw the Mustangs of Mora break a 3-3 tie to come away with a 6-3 win and knock the Rebels from the ranks of the unbeaten. Bode took the loss on the mound as she gave up 7 hits while allowing only 3 earned runs.

Bode did the best to help her own cause going 4-4 with two doubles and a RBI. Josie Benzie, Marissa Mikrot, and Laura Walker each had hits for the Rebels.
