Duluth Denfeld Shuts Out Duluth East

The Duluth Denfeld Hunters matched up with their rival, the Duluth East Greyhounds on the softball diamond Thursday night. The Hunters would shut the Greyhounds down, topping them 6-0.

Ashley Taipale would get the victory for the Hunters, pitching 7 innings, allowing no runs on two hits, and striking out 11. She would also help her cause at the plate, hitting a home run and tallying 2 RBI’s with it. Shelby Johnson would also cross the plate twice for the Hunters.

Greyhounds Avery Ziegler took the loss, going 7 innings, allowing three earned runs on three hits, while tallying 8 strikeouts.

The Hunters improve their record to 3-1 on the year and will look to improve on that when they travel to play Chisago Lakes on April 17th. Duluth East drops to 1-2 on the season and will look to bounce back against Bemidji on April 21st.
