The Carlton Bulldogs opened up their season on Monday evening, traveling to take on the Mountain Iron-Buhl Rangers. The Bulldogs would come home empty handed, as they fell 3-0 in the low scoring match-up.

The Rangers took advantage of a error in the 4th inning, as Jon Troland drove Jared Schultz in to go up 1-0. The Rangers would rally together two more in the bottom of the 6th to make it a final of 3-0.

The Bulldogs had some opportunities in the game to get some runs across, but couldn’t find the timely hit, as they drop to 0-1 on the season.

Evan Gray took the loss for the Bulldogs, pitching a complete game. He would fan 11 batters, while only walking 3, and he gave up 2 earned runs in a stellar pitching performance. Gray also went 2-3 at the plate, including a double, in the loss. Mike Moralez tallied the other base hit for the Bulldogs.

Carlton will be back in action on April 9th when they travel to play the Esko Eskomos (0-0).
