Fond du Lac defeated the top seeded Mountain Iron – Buhl Rangers 85-69, Wednesday nights at UMD in a Section 7A Tournament semifinal match-up as the defending section champions return to the title game Friday night back at UMD.

FDL led 42-33 at the half and it was Fond du Lac’s size, especially from Cameron Thompson who poured in 25 points to lead all scorers Thursday night. Dexter Delille added 20 points and pulled in 19 rebounds for the Ogichidaag, while Jordan Diver added 12 and Justin Brown chipped in with 11.

Jaylon Holmes led MI-B with 19, Archie Winans and Brody Tetrault each had 13 and Dante Josephson added 11.

Fond du Lac will face Floodwood Friday night at UMD so the section title and a trip to the state tournament.
