Turner Leads Esko to Win

Jaxon Turner scored 18 points Tuesday night as the Esko Eskomos opened the section 7AA playoffs with a 50-35 victory over Two Harbors. Turner who was 7-12 from the floor, also was 4-7 from the charity stripe and grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 7 assists in the victory.

Esko outscored the Agates in the first half as they went 28-16 at halftime and outscored the Agates 22-19 in the second half for the 15 point victory.

Adam Trapp added 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, Derek Pantsar added 9 points while Elijah Mattinen hit for 6 points, and it was Nathan Johnson who scored 4 points to close out the Eskomos scoring.

The Agates were led by Alex Lemke who finished with 15 points in the loss, Kyler Kinn chipped in with 8, and Tim Bott added 7 points in the loss.

The Eskomos with the win move back into the section quarterfinals this Saturday when they will face MLWR at Duluth Denfeld at 1:00 pm.

The Eskomos have won the previous two meeting this season with the Rebels. Esko with the win Tuesday improves to 20-7 overall on the season, while Two Harbors ends its season with a 8-18 record.
