Braham tops Barnum

In a battle of two top ranked state teams it was the Barnum Bombers who saw heir 23 game win streak snapped as the Braham Bombers beat the Barnum Bombers by a score of 67-52 Tuesday night in Braham.

It was Braham who started fast jumping out to a 35-27 lead at halftime and went on to the 15 point home victory. Braham which had lost only twice all season long won their 9th straight game as the Bombers improved to 23-2 on the season.

Brandon Newman scored 20 points on the night to lead Barnum before he fouled out midway through the second half. “We played tired tonight” Head Coach Richard Newman told Northland Sports Online. “We didn’t play our best and it showed tonight.” Newman added.

Barnum will try to get back in the win column on Thursday when they host Pine City and then Friday night the Bombers will take on Two Harbors to close out their regular season.

Hunter Fetters chipped in with 13 points for Barnum while Chris Carlson added 6 and it was Mitch Weller and Nathan Jelinick each ending with 5 points in the loss.

Brahma was led by Ryan Larson who scored 26 points, John Larson added 15 and Chris Olson added 13 in the Braham victory.
