Cromwell Extends Winning Streak

The Cromwell Cardinals traveled to Two Harbors on Tuesday night, taking down the Agates 58-50 to win their 7th consecutive game.

The Cardinals got out to a 10 point advantaged at the half, leading 31-21. The Agates would try to battle back, outscoring the Cardinals 29-27 in the second half but it wouldn’t be enough as the Cardinals won the Polar League matchup.

Brandon Fairbanks led the way for the Cardinals, scoring a game high 23 points in the win. Carter Karppinen followed with 15 points, Austin Pfisthner tallied 8, and Zion Smith and Tyler Hakamaki rounded it out with 6 points each.

In the loss for the Agates, Alex Lemke tallied 16 points and was followed by Kyler Kinn who pitched in 11. Derek Blair and John Peer Jr. both added 6 points in the loss, Calvin Luhrsen and Tim Bott both scored 4, and Jayden Ruberg topped it off with 3 points.

The Cardinals move to 14-9 on the season and will play their season finale on February 20th on the road against the McGregor Mercuries. The Agates fall to 8-15 on the season and will travel to play the Floodwood Polar Bears on February 19th with a tipoff of 5:45.
