Anna Fossen and Kassidy Steen each scored 20 points Tuesday night as the Lumberjacks came from five points down at halftime to pick up the 62-55 win at Denfeld High School.

A slow start shooting in the first half and the Denfeld Hunters who shot almost 50% from the floor in the first half gave the Hunters a three point 30-27 lead at halftime.

The Lumberjacks picked up their shooting pace in the second half shooting 47% from the floor, and Fossen broke a 41-41 tie with 9 minutes to play and they would never look back as they went on to the seven point victory.

Following Fossen and Steen it was Kaylee McMillen with 9 points, Hazel Ericson added 6 points, and Jess Stone finished with 5. The Hunters were led by Ashley Taipale who finished with 18 points, Jordyn Nelson scored 16 points, and Cassie Bolen ended with 10 points in the loss for the Hunters.

The Lumberjacks evened their record at 9-9 and they will play at Duluth Marshall on Thursday night. Denfeld falls to 2-15 including 9 consecutive losses, the Hunters will be at Hermantown on Friday night.
