Lady Dogs Capture the Jug

Ashley Anderson scored 20 points to lead all scorers as the Carlton Bulldogs retained the Little Brown Jug for the second consecutive season with a 61-46 victory in Carlton Monday night.

The Bulldogs got up 34-19 when the halftime buzzer sounded. The Bulldogs and Wrens would match each other in the second half, each scoring 27 points, securing the victory for the Bulldogs and the Little Brown Jug.

Anderson led the Bulldogs with 20 points, followed by Millie Groth with 12, Mackenzie Goranson and Jenna Reed with 8 each, Vanessa Davis and Nikki Ojibway with 5 a piece, and Abby Lemke rounding it out with 3.

In the loss, the Wrens were led by Delaney Kittel with 17 points. Following Kittel was Kaitlyn Kelley with 12, Cassie Wimmer with 7, Shana Laveau scoring 6, and Tatum Swanson rounding it out with 4.

The Bulldogs improve to 2-14 on the season and will look for another win on January 29th when they travel to take on the Barnum Bombers. The Wrenshall Wrens fall to 2-12 on the year and will look to bounce back on January 29th when they host Two Harbors.
