The Proctor/Hermantown Mirage edged the Duluth Northern Stars on Saturday, winning by a score of 2-1.

Karie Lenard got the Mirage up early in the 1st period, scoring at the 4:20 mark. Duluth’s Maddy Schnitz responded however just under 3 minutes later to notch the score at 1-1 to end the 1st period.

There would be no scoring in the game until the 3rd period when Jillayne Gilbert scored the game winner just 49 seconds into the 3rd period to give the Mirage the 2-1 victory.

Amy Lemenager stopped 22 shots for the Mirage in the victory, while Northern Stars goalie Kalei Kleive stopped 19 in the loss.

The Mirage improve to 21-3 on the season and will look to end their regular season with a victory when they host Eveleth-Gilbert. The Northern Stars drop to 9-11-3 on the season and will look to bounce back on January 27th when they travel to play Grand Rapids/Greenway.
