Ash Altmann scored three goals and Gunnar Howg stopped 29 shots as Duluth East defeated Maple Grove 4-1 in a penalty-filled game Saturday afternoon at Duluth Heritage Sports Center.

Eighteen penalties were whistled in the game, including one misconduct and two unsportsmanlike conduct infractions against Maple Grove. Duluth East was 2-for-9 on the power-play.

The Greyhounds (10-8-1), who have won four straight, will play road games at Anoka (9-7-1) on Tuesday and Elk River (15-4-0) Saturday.

Senior forward Nick Altmann has a team-high 10 goals and 17 points for Duluth East, which is scoring 2.63 goals scored per game, while allowing 2.84
