The top ranked Hermantown Hawks traveled to Proctor on Tuesday night and skated away with the 10-0 victory.

The Hawks would get on the board just 5 minutes into the first period when Kyle Amundson found the back of the next. Just 20 seconds later the score would be 2-0 after Nate Pionk scored. Just a minute after that, Matt Valure scored, making it 3-0 at the end of the first period.

The second period would be much of the same with Wyatt Aamodt starting the scoring just a tad over a minute in. The Hawks would go up 5-0 after Brendan Baker scored at the 4 minute mark. 10 seconds later, Valure scored his second goal of the game, followed by Ryan Kero scoring at the 6 minute mark to make it 7-0.

Cole Koepke scored 3 minutes later to make it 8-0. Aamodt hit the back of the net for the second time in the period and Jared Zelesnikar topped off the scoring near the 13 minute mark of the 2nd period to cap off the 10-0 victory for the Hawks.

Hermantown’s Cade McEwen stopped 9 shots in the shutout victory. Proctors Matt Johnson blocked 11 shots and Tanner Haedrich stopped 12 in the loss.

The Hawks improve to 16-2 on the season and will travel to play White Bear Lake on January 23rd. The Rails drop to 7-11 on the year and will look to bounce back on January 23rd when they host Mora/Hinckley-Finlayson.
