Bulldogs Shoot Past Mercuries

Matthew Hey scored 16 points as he was one of five players in double figures in scoring Friday night as the Bulldogs came away with a 74-52 win over the McGregor Mercuries at McGregor High School.

Hey connected on 5-8 shots from the floor including 2 three-pointers in the 22 point win. Dominic Bennett and Eric Soderstrom added 13 points for the Bulldogs who hit 8 three-pointers on the night. Cade Pierson added 11 points for the Bulldogs and Tyler Ojibway ended with 10 points for Carlton.

The Bulldogs cruised to a 13 points 39-26 lead at the break and continued to extend their lead in the second half. Carlton ended up shooting 44 % from the field while the Mercuries shot only 30 % from the floor.

The Mercuries were led by Auston Anderson who scored 12 points, while Billy Gellhar and Billy Staska each chipped in with 10 points on the night.

The Bulldogs with the victory move to 4-5 on the season with the win and they are off until January  6th when they will face Minneapolis Edison. McGregor falls to 3-7 and they are also off until January when they will face Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig.
