Newman Honored in McGregor Win

Brandon Newman became the Barnum Bombers leading scorer earlier this season and it was Tuesday night at Barnum High School that the Bombers senior Guard would be honored as he surpassed Lance Redetzke’s scoring record of 1639 points for a career. Newman who helped led the Bombers to a 86-26 win over the Mercuries.

Newman connected with 37 points in the sixty point win Tuesday as he is now sitting with 1790 points only 210 shy of that 2000 point plateau. Barnum had nine players scoring Tuesday in the win over McGregor with Chris Carlson also hitting in double figures with 13 points. Billy Staska led McGregor with 10 points on the night.

Barnum improves to 7-0 on the season and they will face the Esko Eskomos who are 4-1 overall and this will be a potential section 7AA preview of the section finals once again.
