Lady Bulldogs Get First Win

The Lady Bulldogs got their first win of the season Friday night, beating the Silver Bay Mariners 60-50.

The Bulldogs led the Mariners 28-15 at the half. The Mariners battled back and outscored the Bulldogs 35-32 in the second half, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Bulldogs held on down the stretch to get their first win on the year.

The Bulldogs were led by Nikki Ojibway and Vanessa Davis who each had 16 points. Jenna Reed followed with 10 points, Ashley Anderson added 9, Maddie Kesner tallied 7, Millie Groth pitched in 6, and Abby Lemke and Haily Klassen rounded it out with 4 each.

In the loss for the Mariners, April Reineccius scored a game high 27 points. Tara Dow followed with 12 points, Aubrey Thin scored 7, Erika Ernest added 4, and Clarise Huckell and Jackie Hart each had 2.

The Bulldogs improve to 1-3 on the season and will look for another win on Monday, December 15th when they host the East Central Eagles. Silver Bay drops to 0-5 and will play at Floodwood on December 18th.
