Bulldogs Get Past Vikings

The first half of the Polar League matchup saw both teams struggling to baskets to go. As they spent most of the first half watching shots go halfway down and pop back out, the Bulldogs made some halftime adjustments which saw them fast breaking, resulting in easy baskets close to the basket.

At the half, the Bulldogs and Vikings were knotted up at 19-19. The Bulldogs were able to get the lid off the basket in the second half, outrunning and outscoring the Vikings 32-16 while on their way to the 51-35 victory.

The Bulldogs were led by Dominic Bennett who scored a team high 14 points. Adam Ermantinger followed, scoring 11 points. Cade Pierson added 8 for the Bulldogs, Tyler Ojibway scored 6, Waylon Lekander and Jackson Mickle each scored 3, and Sam Macor, Efren Moralez-Cruz, and Nick Lee all finished with 2 points in the victory.

In the loss for Cook County, Andy Farley had a game high 16 points. Jamie Wick added 11 points, Lucas Phillips scored 4, and Rory Bakke and Sam O’Phelan each finished with 2.

The Bulldogs improve to 2-4 on the season and will play the Silver Bay Mariners (1-3) at home on December 12th with a game time of 6:30pm. Cook County drops to 1-2 on the year and will look to bounce back against the Two Harbors Agates (2-3) on December 11th at home.

The Carlton girls lost before the boys game 43-24 as part of this boys and girls doubleheader. Ashley Anderson led the Bulldogs with 10 points on the night and it was Abby Lemke adding 6 in the loss. The Vikings were led by Lilly Schulz who had a game high 19 and it was Emily Jacobson ended with 12.
